The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is accepting grant applications from Native American tribes, Alaska Native villages, regional and village corporations, and non-profit organizations that serve primarily Native Hawaiians, to support museum activities. These activities will enhance learning in families and communities, sustain cultural heritage,
build 21st-century skills, or encourage civic engagement.

National Leadership Grants enable libraries and museums to help people gain the knowledge that enhances their engagement in community, work, family, and society. Projects should enable libraries and museums to address current problems in creative ways, develop and test innovative solutions, and expand the boundaries within which cultural heritage institutions operate. Categories include Advancing Learning Communities, Building Digital Resources, Research and Demonstration, and Partnerships with Museums.

NEH Implementation Grants for Special Projects - National Endowment for the Humanities

Special Project grants support a variety of public humanities program formats, including public discussion forums, hands-on learning experiences, discussion series based on reading or film-viewing, multi-faceted conferences, or symposia. Small exhibitions or interpretive publications might serve as common texts for such programs.

Digital Humanities Start-Up Grants

Description:  Digital Humanities Start-Up Grants should result in plans, prototypes, or proofs of concept for long-term digital humanities projects prior to implementation. These grants support full-time or part-time activities for periods up to eighteen months. Support is available for various combinations of scholars, consultants, and research assistants; project-related travel; and technical support and services. Up to 20% of the total grant may be used for the acquisition of computing hardware and software. All grantees will communicate the results of their work to appropriate scholarly and public audiences. Applications may be submitted by individuals or institutions. In either case, the application should describe the concept or problem to be addressed, the plan of work, the experience of the project team as it relates to the plan, and the intended outcomes of both the start-up project and the long-term project that it would initiate.
